This is my unique process of forming ridged expanding polyurethane foam using only one surface. This material is designed to be used in a closed mold application where all surfaces are restricted by to mold walls. My goal was to allow the visible surface of my lamp to retain the texture of the unrestricted foam. In order to achieve this goal it was necessary for me to design a new process and machine. Now that I have control and am able to replicate the dome shape I plan to tweak the form.
